Year 2

Our pupils have come a long way, gaining confidence, skills and knowledge. Opportunities to embrace responsibility are plentiful, and our Year 2 children rise to them with enthusiasm, showing maturity as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.

Leading, Performing and Thriving

As the oldest in Pre-Prep, our Year 2 children embrace leadership roles and thrive on new challenges. They proudly serve as Eco-Warriors and School Council representatives, take on key roles in drama productions and act as role models for younger pupils. Year 2 children also step onto bigger stages, performing alongside older pupils in the Spring Concerts at the Pittville Pump Room or Town Hall and showcasing their talents at the prestigious Cheltenham Festival for Performing Arts.

To support their transition to Prep, Year 2 children are allocated Year 6 buddies in the Summer Term. This helps them build friendships, gain confidence and feel supported as they prepare for the next chapter. Throughout the year, they explore exciting opportunities, such as joining Prep children for Chess Club, trying out musical instruments on Music Taster Day and enjoying PE lessons on the Prep grounds.

By the end of Year 2, our goal is for every child to be confident, capable and fully equipped to embrace the next stage of their Berky journey in Year 3.
