Music is integral to life at Berkhampstead. All children have specialist music lessons, and most Prep pupils learn at least one instrument. Opportunities include Samba Bands and ukulele in the Pre-Prep, and choirs and numerous ensembles in the Prep.
There are many different Music Clubs: the youngest children in the Day Nursery have ‘Berky Bears Music’, in the Pre-Prep there is always a Music Club - ‘Crash Bang Wallop’, Junior Choir or ‘Strum It’ - and in the Prep there are numerous ensembles for both beginners and more advanced players - string groups, jazz bands, choirs and percussion.

Our caterers, Palmer & Howells, prepare fresh, nutritious meals daily, ensuring a balanced and delicious menu for our pupils. A healthy mid-morning snack keeps energy levels up, while lunch is served family-style, with a member of staff heading each table to encourage good manners and conversation.
Yes, the Friends of Berkhampstead PTA organizes social and fundraising events, including Quiz Night, Festive Friday and the Summer Festival.
