Our Ethos
“Perseverantia Vincit” – Perseverance Wins Through. Established in 1945, our school motto reflects the belief that perseverance is essential to every child's success in school and life. By embracing this mindset and learning from mistakes, our pupils develop a positive, 'can-do' attitude. This enduring ethos continues to inspire and empower each generation at Berkhampstead.

We believe children learn best when they feel inspired, engaged and involved. Our non-pressured environment encourages them to think independently, embrace mistakes and persevere—key ingredients for meaningful learning and personal growth.
Competitiveness
Every child experiences the camaraderie and excitement of competing in sports, with all pupils representing Berkhampstead in fixtures from Year 3. They discover the value of teamwork, learn to overcome challenges, and enjoy the highs and lows of playing together.
Creativity
At Berkhampstead, creativity flourishes. From Music and Art to Drama, there’s a genuine “have a go” attitude. Children are encouraged to experiment and express themselves without fear, achieving remarkable standards along the way.
