About Us

Set in mature grounds in Cheltenham’s leafy Pittville Circus Road, the Day Nursery adjoins the school and provides all that babies, toddlers and children could need.

Berkhampstead Day Nursery first opened its doors in 2012. The premise was to create a Day Nursery that reflected the values of the highly respected Berkhampstead School, and to extend the ‘Berky’ experience to the very young.

We boast five spacious and stimulating classrooms, tailored specifically for each age group, as well as a library, sensory room and dining room. We also use the school’s facilities including their Early Years gym and cookery room. We provide a safe and secure environment and give children wonderful opportunities to explore, discover and grow, and to learn through play.

Our generous outside space includes a specially designed Early Years playground, a nature garden, a pond and a ‘mud’ kitchen. We also provide a dedicated outdoor area for the Under 2s.

Our caring and well-qualified staff are all first aid trained, and are passionate about providing the best childcare possible.

There is no better feeling than leaving your child every day somewhere where you know he will be so loved and so well taken care of. I am so confident in this Nursery… I feel it has enhanced his whole life experience. He sings, ‘My nursery…my nursery’ on his way each day. We could not be happier with his care. Thank you.

Children are notably active learners who show great enthusiasm and a desire to find out more. They are highly motivated, concentrate extremely well and enjoy their successes.

Learning

Education matters as much as care and so we provide both. Our responsive planning system lets us respond to children’s immediate needs and interests on a daily basis. This ensures that every child is engaged with their environment and the play-based experiences on offer.

We strike a good balance between child initiated play and adult led experiences and children are actively encouraged to ‘have a go’ and to try things for themselves. Our flexible and fun approach to the curriculum nurtures creative, independent and enthusiastic little learners.

All children are extremely well prepared for the next stage of education, moving on with great excitement as and when they are ready and in partnership with parents.
