Teddy Bears

The Teddy Bears' Room provides a great space for fun and adventure for our rising threes. Increasingly independent, your child will be able to role-play and develop a vivid imagination, to build skills and strength and to learn to share and socialise.

Learning

Secure in the familiar environment and supported by their Key Workers, children tackle more advanced activities and develop their language and reasoning skills.

Social skills are paramount and children eat, play and share experiences together.

It’s a world of fun and discovery as your child begins to find a sense of self and there are glimpses of the person they will become.

Stretching

Experiences are tailored to stretch and challenge and children grow and learn as their horizons expand and they begin to do more for themselves.

Adjoining little loos make potty training as easy as possible and staff liaise with parents to ensure a positive outcome.

The encouragement and warmth they’ve become used to remains and learning takes place through playing and doing. Berkhampstead Prep School staff visit often to work with the children and, among other things teach music, French and read stories.

A particular focus in nursery is to inspire children to be curious and imaginative and to encourage enquiry-based learning.

The Early Years Foundation Stage, laid down by OFSTED, forms the basis for learning, all of which we introduce through play. Each child is introduced to concepts as they become ready - the sky’s the limit with how far they can go!

Creative teaching means that children will enjoy art and craft, books, number and matching activities and learn whilst playing - just look at the smiles, the fun’s clear to see.
