Berkhampstead Day Nursery is a wonderful place to be a child! It's a real home-from-home, with caring staff and a happy atmosphere. Our reputation for providing quality childcare is excellent; we've been caring for and educating children since 1945.
Set in mature grounds in Cheltenham’s leafy Pittville Circus Road, the Day Nursery adjoins the school and provides all that babies, toddlers and children could need.
Berkhampstead Day Nursery first opened its doors in 2012. It reflects the values of the highly respected Berkhampstead School, and extends the ‘Berky’ experience to the very young.
The building is large with spacious rooms, high ceilings and lots of natural light. It provides a safe and secure environment for children and gives them great opportunities to explore, discover and grow, to learn through play and - importantly - to have fun.
A fabulous team of staff give your child care and attention that is second to none. Enjoyment is key - staff and children alike are happy to be at Berkhampstead!
There is no better feeling than leaving your child every day somewhere where you know he will be so loved and so well taken care of. I am so confident in this Nursery… I feel it has enhanced his whole life experience. He sings, ‘My nursery…my nursery’ on his way each day. We could not be happier with his care. Thank you.— Parent
Children’s personal and emotional development is excellent and they feel very secure, safe and happy.— ISI Report, Apr 2017
Education matters as much as care and so we provide both. Our responsive planning system lets us respond to children’s immediate needs and interests on a daily basis. This ensures that every child is engaged with their environment and the play-based experiences on offer.
We strike a good balance between child initiated play and adult led experiences and children are actively encouraged to ‘have a go’ and to try things for themselves. Our flexible and fun approach to the curriculum nurtures creative, independent and enthusiastic little learners.
The children’s wellbeing and safeguarding are a key focus of the nursery …a genuine concern for the welfare and personal development of the children.— ISI Report, Nov 2014
Regular visits from Berkhampstead School’s staff mean that there are stories from the Headmaster and Mr Titley, English teacher on offer and Music with the talented Mrs Sallis.
