Chess Success!

The annual District Chess Congress – hosted by St. Gregory’s last Saturday – proved really successful for Berkhampstead. One of our Year 6 pupils retained the championship that he won last year with some tremendously skilful and thoughtful play. We claimed many other prizes, including joint second place for two of our pupils, and another Year 6 player finished in fourth place. Happily, Berkhampstead picked up the award for the most successful school so will receive the Wheeler Cup (for the fourth year in a row) at next month’s prize giving ceremony.
