It's A Bug's Life!

Reception children had a fantastic, hands-on morning getting extremely close to Minibeasts when ZooLab came to visit. The visit was planned to support Reception’s new topic, ‘It’s A Bug’s Life.’ The children learned the importance of handling the Minibeasts carefully, and they also gleaned plenty of interesting facts about creatures such as Giant Snails, Tarantulas, Stick Insects, Cockroaches and Pythons. The brave children were relaxed and confident enough to want to hold and touch the different Minibeasts, and they couldn’t stop taking about what they had seen when the visit was over. Later that day, the thoroughly inspired pupils put pen to paper, and created their own acrostic poem about Minibeasts. Well done, Reception.
