Chapatis and Dahl!

      Chapatis and Dahl!

The children have been studying India all term and the last lesson always takes place in the cookery room. Here the children make their own chapatis from flour, water and a little oil, blending the mixture into a dough, and then rolling out thinly. Each chapati is then dry fried. The tricky art is to then use the chapati to scoop the dahl up and to try what is a staple diet for much of the Indian population. Great fun was had by all and most of the children liked the taste of the dahl - some even came back for more!
