Pizza Anyone?

      Pizza Anyone?

Year 4 spent a fun-filled morning making ‘pizzas’ and ‘dustbins’ from an array of recycling material. The workshop was planned to support their geography topic about natural resources, the 3 R’s - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - and how humans affect the environment. Pupils were asked to be as artistic as possible and after a few minutes, there were egg boxes, string, orange peel, screws, material, bottle tops, foam, twigs, plastic and polystyrene filling the geography room! Each section of their pizza or bin represented the percentage of different waste that Gloucestershire residents throw away every year. Head of Geography, Louise Walter commented, "It was a great way for the children to look at all the waste that should not end up in landfill sites and to emphasise the importance of recycling". Well done to all the Year 4’s.
