How can I support my child's learning?                                         

The Preparatory Department builds on the solid foundation laid down in earlier years. The children have all of the advantages of being in Forms but are taught by a wealth of specialist teachers.

Our, "demanding and interesting curriculum" (ISI Inspection Report) is supplemented with Music, Art, ICT, PE, PSHCE and Drama and provides a stimulating and well-rounded education for all children.  

Our children are eager to learn and they thrive here.  Subjects are taught with regard to the national curriculum, the Grammar Schools Entrance Tests, Common Entrance and for scholarship to independent schools. Furthermore, children are thoroughly prepared for any Entrance Exams they sit and we have an excellent record of children entering the school of their choice.

As children progress up the school they take on more responsibility for helping with daily activities and events with the emphasis on working together and helping each other.

Our small class sizes allow lots of opportunity for collaborative working and pupils enjoy plenty of attention form the teaching staff.
