Teddy Bears' Picnic
Bring your teddy and let's have a good time out in the grounds! All bears are welcome on Monday 13th August; big ones, small ones, old ones and lovely fluffy new ones. Whatever your bear is like - bring him (or her) along to our lovely picnic. We have big plans for games and food, for frolicking in the sun and rolling on the grass in the Nursery garden. Most exciting is that Berky Bear himself is set to make an appearance...as soon as his new jumper is ready!
Little Yoga with Tatty Bumpkin
A wonderful opportunity to develop movement and coordination skills, to use the natural flexibility that little ones have and to equip them with the ability to focus and to relax, we are offering FREE taster sessions in July. Tatty Bumpkin sessions will be offered as an activity from September and children will be introduced to 'the bendy, giggly world for strong bodies and clever minds....' which brings fun through yoga-inspired stories for babies and children up to 7 years old. Parents are welcome to attend the taster sessions and get a real flavour of what is in store in the activity.
Children's Art Week
Our children LOVE art! The Nursery is already a riot of colour and covered with displays, but we are ready for more! Art Week (July 6th - 13th) is designed to excite and inspire them to be expressive across a range of media. Most importantly, though is the chance to have fun with paint and crayons, junk modelling and collage. Great fun!
Rainbow Week
Great fun is planned for the week 23rd - 27th July. Staff and children alike are invited to come on in dressed in the day's colour. We start on Monday with red, Tuesday is orange, Wednesday is yellow - dress like the sun and let's hope it shines! Thursday means it's time for green clothes (and hats or brollys!) and Friday is blue day. Indigo and violet for the weekend if you want to carry on - send in your pictures!
What We've Been Doing.
Fruity Friday
Fruity Fridays are always events to celebrate - great fun for all playing with food, eating and tasting and experimenting with texture and flavour. This week featuring pomegranates and melon and a range of other colours and combinations, it's the first in a series of themed days.
Royal Garden Party
The invitations have gone out and the RSVP's are eagerly awaited. Anyone who is anyone at Berkhampstead Day Nursery will be at the party on Friday June 1st! Come along and join in the fun with games and food let the celebrations begin!
Evening Event
Current parents are warmly invited to come along to a social evening, to meet staff and one another. On Friday 8th June we will open the Day Nursery doors for a little longer than usual, from 6.30 - 8.00 and would be delighted to see lots of you there. There'll be chance to chat informally to the Key People in your little one's life, to have a general look around and to ask any questions that you may have. It should help you to put names to faces and you may well meet the parents of your children's friends!
Daddies Stay and Play
Berkhampstead Day Nursery Dads are invited to come on in and have some fun on June 14th. What a great opportunity, come on dads - take some time off and have a good old play - get right into what the children do all day, for and hour or so at least!
