Community

We run many events throughout the year which engage pupils with the local and global community.  From the Harvest Festival, Christmas and Easter Services held in the beautiful All Saints Church, to the ever popular Operation Christmas Child and Bags2Schools, pupils get involved.

Each year the School Council select charities.   CLIC Sargent, the children's cancer charity and the Dogs' Trust are two organisations that have benefited from their fundraising efforts.

A diverse range of acts made up the fund raising Variety Performance, which was enormously well attended and very funny.

Hugely successful was the Street Party to celebrate the Royal Wedding - where staff and children wore red, white and blue and donated to CLIC.   All ages from 3-11 joined in with games and a treasure hunt.  The toasts to the Queen and to the Royal Couple were enjoyed enormously and the National Anthem was sung with gusto!  Click for pictures.  A great day for the whole Berkhampstead community to celebrate together in the spring sunshine.

Another School Council initiative was to celebrate Red Nose Day by wearing a 'Mad hat or Crazy Hair!'  The School Council Leader dreamt up the crazy idea and she and friends in both the Prep and Pre-Prep got fully into the spirit of it!  Click here for more pictures.
The Pre-Prep children with a little help from staff and the PTA, organised a very successful Bring and Buy Sale, in aid of Japan in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami.  Books and toys were brought in and sold and the Year 2 children acted as stall-holders.  Refreshments were on offer and lots of doughnuts were eaten in a good cause!

Children and residents alike enjoyed chatting when Year 2 visited the Lilian Faithfull residential home.  The children entertained residents by singing harvest songs and presented them with fruit baskets and fresh produce from our Harvest collection.

Our talented musicians braved the cold last year to enjoy their

annual performance of carols in the Beechwood Arcade in Cheltenham.  Playing together and enjoying making music was fun, the chance to wear Santa hats was embraced widely and even better, money was raised for charity.  Well done to all who took part!
