A word from the Headmaster

Welcome to Berkhampstead School, Cheltenham - a positive and purposeful place where smiling faces testify to the real pleasure that our pupils get from their school day. I am delighted that you have chosen to visit the website. Please browse and get a flavour of what Berkhampstead School is about - click on our school magazine (right) for the highlights of last term.
Berkhampstead has an excited 'buzz' of enthusiastic teaching and learning, which on a visit can be experienced first hand. I would be delighted to show you around and give you the chance to talk to staff and see the boys and girls in action.
We are proud of what we do here and were pleased to have our 'outstanding' pastoral care and our 'demanding and interesting' curriculum endorsed by the ISI Inspectors. Reading that our pupil are 'effective and competent learners' who have 'highly positive attitudes to their learning' was no surprise, but splendid to see on paper.
Berkhampstead School is a very happy school with a supportive atmosphere where the children flourish. It is not pressurised, yet our reseults are excellent. Our children are taught by enthusiastic, well-qualified and imaginative teachers, who are interested in each child.
At Berkhampstead, we celebrate the individual. Every child will have chance to discover and develop their unique talents.
Our Parents, Staff and Governors, when surveyed, identified one aim of this school valued above all others - that the children should be happy.
We know we achieve this because there is evidence all around of smiling and purposeful boys and girls. We believe it is because they are so happy, that they work hard and develop the attitude and confidence that allows them to thrive in their senior schools.

Berkhampstead Day Nursery is now open.
